Welcome and Introduction
A very warm Aussie G’day! Thank you for visiting our Website. We trust that you will find your visit with us, to be informative, enlightening, and encouraging. However, some of the information your may find puzzling, and wonder why we would ‘name names’ and publish this type of information? Well, it is because we believe that there are four extremely valid reasons for us to do so.
Firstly, as Christians, we now follow the Lord Jesus Christ, who said,
“I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me…” John 14:6 (RSV). The Christians in the early church at Galatia were warned by the Apostle Paul that they should not be troubled by those who would come to them with “a different gospel” wanting to pervert the True Gospel of Christ that he brought to them! He also wrote to the Christians at Corinth warning them not to accept “another Jesus…or receive another gospel…”
He went on to say,
“…what I do I will continue to do, in order to undermine the claim of those who would like to claim that in their boasted mission they work on the same terms as we do. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angle of light. So it is not strange if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds.” 2 Corinthians 11:1-15 (RSV)
There are many other Scriptures encouraging Christ’s followers to stand for truth and expose the works of darkness. Can we not follow our Lord’s teaching and that of His servant Paul and do likewise? Paul tasked us,
“…to equip the Saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the Body of Christ (the Church)…so that we no longer be children, tossed to and fro and be carried about with every wind of doctrine (teaching) by the cunning of men…speaking the truth in love in every way unto him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by every joint with which it is supplied, when each part is working properly, makes bodily growth and up-builds itself in love.” Ephesians 4:12, 14 & 15-16 parenthesis mine (RSV)
Secondly, we know from personal experience, that some of the information you will find at this site can literally save your life; or the life of a family member; a relative, someone you know, or someone you will come into contact with in the future. It is our desire is to equip you to help in order to prevent and stop people making, what we call, ‘spiritual suicide’!
Thirdly, if you are already involved in, or being confronted with a teaching or practice that is mentioned on this site, then the information presented could, if you let it, set you free from a present bondage (even if you can’t recognise it), or perhaps there could be the possibility of a future bondage that at the moment is not evident to you, or a loved one?
Fourthly, we believe we have an obligation, or a mandate if you like, to publish information on the beliefs and practices of world religions and world political moves resulting from religious, or atheistic influences, and events that perhaps most people in your society have never exposed to. We do this in order to bring insights and understanding that are sometimes glossed over, even hidden, by biassed media, which shapes the news, or does not report it. In other words, we seek to expose the truth which is often never told and therefore hidden!
The information offered is done responsibly and in a genuine spirit of love and concern, although you may initially disagree with that? However, be encouraged that there are many thousands around the world who have proven for themselves that what is offered here is not offered as a product of bigotry, hatred, intolerance, or animosity, towards any particular person or group that’s been named.
Should the reader take exception to anything that is presented, we simply encourage you to make and take the time to check out whatever it is that disturbs you, for yourself. We challenge you, even dare you, to prove what we’ve presented is wrong! You may ask…
Who are we?
Mandate Ministries began in 1978. It was in that year that Fred and Barbara Grigg finally gained the courage to ‘resign’ from their long involvement over many years with the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society, commonly known as Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW’s). One cannot simply ‘resign’ from the JW’s! If a person who has become a “Kingdom Publisher” (by being baptised in water by the Jw’s), and then at a later date, decides to leave and subsequently join a Christian church, they are immediately and publicly excommunicated (or, ‘Disfellowshipped’ as they call it), for “Apostasy”! Once a person is Disfellowshipped he will publicly shamed and be ‘shunned’ and not be spoken to by JW’s from that time onward!
Fred and Barbara, were among thousands of others worldwide, who became involved with the JW’s during what were very demanding and stressful times in the years leading up to 1968. The 25 years from from 1939 – 1964 were very stressful and uncertain times after WWII. The Atomic Bomb Threat was growing and permeating everything; then came the UN backed Korean War; the fear being generated from what became ‘The Cold War’ culminated in the long and controversial Vietnam War! It was Fred’s involvement in Vietnam and other SE Asian conflicts, that made the future for him look grim and seeming impossible. Fred and his wife, Barbara, sadly succumbed, to what proved in time to be a false hope, which was held out to them by the JW’s at a time when they were vulnerable. They, along with their children, became entangled with the JW’s, through their lack of knowledge, and were ‘spiritually captive’ – one could say, to the Watchtower Society! After severing all their ties with the JW’s years later, they said it was like being in a prison without bars – for a period of ten years!
However, those 10 years were not a total loss. They had gained invaluable insights from being on the ‘inside’ of what the JW’s term ‘The New World Order’. Those insights and their experience were the very things that launched their ministry. Shortly after leaving the JW’s behind, they found that they were in demand to assist others who were facing similar problems themselves, or who had loved ones becoming involved with the JW’s. From their initial successes helping those troubled by the JW’s, their work became widely known. However, problems created by other dangerous religious groups, began to be incorporated into their expertise. When they could not initially answer the hard questions regarding a particular teaching, or group – they researched, investigated and found the answers that were needed!
Prior to these pages being placed on the Internet, the ministry had already become International. For many years, Mandate Ministries made progressive input into more than 35 countries through publishing their monthly newsletter titled, ‘The Gospel Truth’ [now discontinued and replaced by this Site]. Over the years they’ve had the privilege of conducting speaking tours throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and the USA. Fred has served as a regular and visiting lecturer for several mainline denominational Bible Colleges in Australia and the USA. The colleges and their respective denominations have credibility with with the wider Body of Christ, governments, police units, social welfare agencies and the print and electronic media.
To aid their credibility, Fred earned a Bachelor of Religious Education Degree [BR.Ed] from the now Jubilee International Bible College in 1988 [his major was Christian Apologetics – ‘defence of the Christian faith’]. His thesis, “On the Fringe” was a closer look at numerous so-called ‘Bible based’ aberrant religious groups functioning in Australia at that time. Many of the groups he reviewed were simply ‘a local branch’ of a ‘parent group’ who had their origin in other countries. In most cases, discerning Christians would have already regarded the groups and teachings he named as being in error. However, because many of the groups and practices he named were functioning openly, even within the periphery of true Christianity, they went undetected as being cultic by most. People need to know what is dangerous to one’s spiritual well-being, their financial wealth and invariably their physical health.
After many years of study, research and experience in ministry, it was in 2006, that Fred completed a Doctorate of Divinity Degree [D.D.] from Masters International School of Divinity, Indiana, USA. He is a qualified journalist, author, and Christian Apologist. Much of his writings are on this site.
The information provided on this site is a product of not only Fred and Barbara’s extensive, comprehensive on-going Bible studies, associated research, and experience over many years, but also much contributed by respected others – to whom we are deeply indebted.
In fairness to the reader you MUST make the time to read through the appropriate Help Topics first, so that you can understand where we are coming from in our reasoning and logic. If you are tempted to go straight to a particular group listed, which you may be interested in, you will find yourself becoming very upset that we have dared to list that group! You may, as many have done in the past, waste your time and ours by writing and sending to us what we have come to call ‘hate mail’! Such mail reveals to us that you have not taken the foregoing advice and action and that you do not understand why we listed said group here in the first place!
“Avoid the bondage created by dangerous religious groups…don’t practice with unsafe sects!”
